A little about the man behind the ministry
Rev. Dwight E. Berry, BS (magna cum laude); MBA (hon); ABD; DBA, (c) is the Senior Pastor of Empowerment Center. At age twelve, he started to play the Baritone Horn, Trombone, and several of the lower-brass instruments in his school band. By age fifteen, after spearheading a car cleaning business, he was able to buy a trumpet and take trumpet and voice lessons, and later becoming a virtuoso trumpeter by age seventeen, performing some of the coveted concerti in some of the major venue including Olympic Stadium. Upon entering college, he performed with the orchestra, and became the principal trumpeter and tenor soloist. Pastor Berry attended several prominent universities. During his matriculation, he maintained the Dean’s and President's List every semester, and was selected to the National Dean’s List, Who Is Who Among Students In American Universities & Colleges, All American Scholar, National Honor Society, and many other honors ranking in the top 5% of all college students. He has accomplished these things while maintaining his position as a teacher, holding the position as Music Director, helping in after school programs, and performing in recitals and oratorios. Later, as an entrepreneur, Dwight Berry spearheaded Techno-One and Executive Solutions group. After a call to the Ministry at age 23 and several years of avoidance, he finally accepted the call of God.
His conversion experience came with the recognition that “I have sinned and come short of God’s Glory,” and that “repentance is commanded of God for forgiveness of sins.” His modus vivendi is to serve. “One must be devoted to the advancement of the community of faith by identifying the unrealized potential of humankind as a vessel for God’s glory.” As an evangelist, he ministered on several radio and television program, including The Moment of Truth. As Christian educator, businessman and preacher, he offers a favorable environment committed to the expansion of integrity, spiritual and personal development, and Christian ideals for the edification of the Kingdom of God. “It is God’s will for you to prosper.” Reverend Berry aims at preparing people, to whom excellence and professionalism matter, for the Kingdom of God. Along with being a Pastor, he is a member of the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, an Executive Member of the E-Business Communication Association, editor, and a member of the President’s National Business Advisory Counsel, and Professor of Business and English.
